the stats: she's 14 weeks old now and 12 pounds.
so...a couple weeks ago elizabeth started doing this thing where she would only take two of the six ounces in her bottle and then quit. she'd cry and writhe and defend her mouth from those remaining four ounces like they were liquid poison...or worse: FORMULA, which all mothers know is just as bad (that was a joke). mealtimes became little torture sessions, she never really had a full belly, and she was pretty crabby about it. no good. long story short, i took her to the doctor who said it sounded like she had reflux and prescribed zantac. cue beams of light, heavens opening, and angel chorus. three feedings later she's slurping down her bottles like they're mother's milk (also. is joke.). i'm baking cookies for our doctor.
in other news, she's started doing some pretty serious drooling and fist gnawing, which i've read is associated with teething....though it seems rather early for that. and now....a photo:

i should have thought to check here for more pictures. but i still want more. she is so cute it makes me laugh!
ReplyDelete(my boys did the drooling about the same time, but didn't get any teeth at all until 9 and 10 months... my doctor said it might be a sign of getting ready for food so i believe that since the teeth weren't anywhere close... but who knows, your baby might have a full set in no time)
i love your blog.
good jokes.
