no picture today. instead, a very official announcement: we're adding another kid to the fam! yeah, little doudini number two will be arriving on or (more likely) about july 28.

a few items of note:

1. i'm a fat pregnant person. really, i'm not trying to be cute or funny. last time i gained just under 60lbs. pregnancy makes me hungry, and i quite simply have no will power. right now i need spagetti...and panda express.

2. my mom will be in illinois when the baby arrives. i have fear.

3. i'm pretty sure this baby is going to receive very little love and/or attention because i'm almost positive i can't love anything more than elizabeth. sorry kid. them's the pits.

4. july 28 is way too close to july 25. (ahem, my BIRTHDAY. geez people.)

that is all. happy tuesday!

  2. Very exciting - and I was happy you posted here, too, so I could tell you how exciting I think it is without receiving a billion facebook notices from all your other almost-as-awesome-as-me friends :) seriously, though, it's even funner with 2!

  3. Congrats, Sara! I thought the same thing about another baby, but you'll be amazed at how your heart expands!!! Cheesy, I know, but it's true! :)

  4. 1. Hilarious...tell me when you are ready for cupcakes...b/c I am not pregnant but I'm in the mood for cupcakes...
    2. That is frightening but I'll do my best to distract you with more food...
    3. I'll let you think that way for now and then refer back to this next year when you are gushing over both
    4. I'm sure you can do plenty of in utero scolding to keep him/her from stealing your thunder...

  6. Congratulations! I love your honesty of #3. :)
I remember when I was in the hospital after having #2 and found myself unexpectedly crying because it hit me that #1 wasn't my baby anymore. I was mourning the special one on one mommy-daughter time we would not have anymore. Good news though, I had enough love for #2 & even #3. :)
On another note, there is nothing like seeing the love and connection between siblings. Pure joy.

  9. Congratulations!!!! A new little doud or doudette! (I worked long and hard on that one!) The ride to the hospital with the second one is the weirdest thing ever, mostly because I suddenly remembered VERY clearly what was about to happen, and because all I could think was I wanted to get it over with so I could get back to Keane. I left the hospital forgetting that I had an older child! Mom of the year.

  10. Congratulations, Sara!!! I felt the exact same way and it seems like your babies will be close together in age... which makes it harder because having 2 babies splits you even more... leaving you more guilt stricken. When I had my 2nd baby, my mom was having surgery the week after and her doctor told her not to travel, so guess who came out to help? MY DAD!! Funniest experience ever... the house was a mess, Rowan (my oldest and only 18 months old at the time) ate at In-n-Out every day, but he was LOVING being with his "Bonka" (what he calls his grandpa). Just think... another beautiful baby to photograph!!! :) Isn't it hilarious how we "mommy photographers" think?? Can't wait to follow it all.
