elizabeth's "words" in order of their appearance:

go away (yes, this was her first.  i guess i say it to the dog a lot)
dada
mama

hay-yah! (you know, the noise you make when you karate-chop somebody...courtesy of the samurai pie episode of backyardigans)
doggie (actually, most everything is "doggie".  anything worth pointing at is called "doggie")
mine! (courtesy of charlie:)
cheese

other developments:

she is able to now confidently identify her eyes, ears, nose, mouth, tummy, and toes.

for the past few days she's been running around the house with her hands over her ears, yelling.  i remember doing that as a kid....covering my ears and listening to myself from the inside of my brain:)

she's started doing some "girl" stuff.  yesterday she wrapped her doggie in her blanket and carried him around patting him and talking to him in some sweet-voiced gibberish.  so tender.

she's exhibiting some inherited obsessive tendencies.  example: she comes to me at least thrice daily with one or both arms outstretched so i'll adjust her sleeve, which has either been pushed up on her arm or has become twisted and is not laying quite right.  eye roll.

**new playhouse courtesy of craigslist.  $40.  she loves it....talks on the phone, sits at the little table, opens and closes the shutters, rings the doorbell, but mostly just walks in and out of the front door, making sure it closes securely behind her.

  1. Please teach me how to get these awesome things on craigslist. I want a sandbox and a slide, and I have had noooo luck.

    Oh and, mine. You're welcome.

(Also, I now have the ha-ya pie-ah song stuck in my head.)

  3. Ok so Elizabeth and Mady could be best friends. They sound so alike in their ways. The door shutting is a must with our house too. I feel like the house would not be anywhere near as fun without the door.
