i know i'm going to want to remember this stuff when i have my next baby.
bets is now 16 weeks old and almost 14 pounds. she eats about five ounces every three hours during the day (6am, 10, 1, 4, 7:30pm....five times). for her last feeding at 7:30pm, i put a nice round tablespoonful of rice cereal into five ounces of breast milk and then when she downs that, feed up to three more ounces from another bottle...so she gets a total of 7-8 ounces of milk plus a tablespoon of rice cereal at her last feeding. she goes to sleep between 8:15 and 8:45pm and, knock on wood, for the past three nights has STAYED asleep until six or seven o'clock in the morning. though most books consider six hours of solid sleep "sleeping through the night", i consider just these past three nights her first nights of "sleeping through the night". what else....oh, she naps three times per day. she has about an hour nap between each feeding, and i let her sleep for ten minutes between the four and seven o'clock meals. i tried depriving her of the ten minute nap last night and she was dead asleep as soon as the 7:30pm bottle touched her lips. it was a nightmare.
hm.....i called the doctor this morning because the reflux was back today with a vengeance. she's been pretty grouchy, refusing bottles, and spitting up a LOT. el doctor increased her dosage of zantac to accommodate her increased weight. let's hope tomorrow's a better day.
and pumping. i pump four times per day. first thing in the morning, noon, 5pm, and before i go to bed at night. you do the math. i spend most of my time producing, extracting, and transferring milk into this growing little mugwamp of a baby. darned if she ain't cute though. no picture this time. you'll just have to trust me.
I trust u.
