Photobucket

i'm sure i have problems or whatever, but i find this pic hilarious. it's like the baby version of somebody caught in the act.

so we all know i paid a few good ole american dollars to take this photo class a few months ago, and we also all know that for the past few months i've been more than a bit obsessed with taking pictures. i read and experiment and ask questions and learn new things every day.

BUT.

i'm no pro. and i know that. and i'm alright with it. i like me.

HOWEVER.

i feel like i'm in this perfect position to share some knowledge with those who know nada/zilch/zippo about photography....because guess what!? i was THERE just a few months ago! so please don't hate me if i try to share a tip or two every now and again. i'm really not on a high horse or anything. in fact my horse is very, very stumpy legged. a mini-horse even! yes, i DO love me a mini horse.

super duper easy way to take a better photo tip #1:

when you're taking pictures of your kiddies....KNEEL DOWN! yes, i said it. i mean don't bow down to them or anything, because chances are they've been very naughty very recently and need no submission from YOU. but seriously. squat down and get on their level to take their picture.

for instance, that suitcase picture up yonder? i took that picture lying on my back. actually, the camera may even have been lying on the carpet. here's another shot taken a few seconds earlier where i was standing with the camera pointing downward:

look at that! almost the same shot, but oh, so abysmally boring!

same principle applies when taking pics of other subjects of unfortunate height...dogs, flowers, and mini horses alike:) try it out! you'll like it. promise.

(disclaimer: there are a zillion and twelve different ways to take pictures and i am by no means saying that this is the best or only way to snap a photo. use my advice at your own risk.)

  1. Unfortunate height. Haha.

It seems so basic, and yet, I don't do it! You are a purveyor of fabulous advice.
