the doud family "nested" today. tomorrow at 8am i'm being induced. so greg washed the cars and the dog, and i changed all the sheets and washed the floors and cried several times over the fact that i'm abandoning my sweet firstborn to go and have a second baby in the morning.

we're excited. and nervous.

it feels like i'm preparing myself for a trip to mars, but really pomerado hospital is like five minutes away. i guess i just know that when i leave the house tomorrow morning, everything changes forever. and change is scary sometimes. right? cheers to our last night as a family of three.

  2. Minds and hearts running parallel, crying as we think about abandoning daughters to change and hard things..me for you and you for Elizabeth. We are sorry that we can't shoulder the change and always be there. Finding peace in the knowledge that there is One who is always there and involved in the details of life's challenges and concerns. Confident that our daughters are strong and wise and intelligent; so able to handle what comes their way even when they don't know they can. But they can and do!
You know how cherished you are as a daughter. No Mother could love you more. Tell Dr. Eastman thank you for taking such good care of you and being your Mother for today! I owe her big time. Surely at least lunch when I get back in town.
    Happy Mother's Day Sara Elizabeth!

  4. Sara, we are so excited for you guys. Can't wait to meet her. I had the same feelings before we had #2. It's strange how quickly life changes. Awesome picture, love that you can still see your feet.

  5. So exciting! I'm guessing you might even already have had your new little one. Something about the definitiviness of an actual date and time definitely brings the new baby into a reality, both scary and exciting. Your mom's comment made me tear up - such sweet words. Good luck!
