the mighty mississip, the ole miss...
by definition, a vacation is only worth taking if one is able to go out to lunch without taking a shower. nauvoo passes.
so we've been here a week, and i have to admit to drinking the kool-aid. i love it here. the landscape, the history, the temple, the feeling; all great. i came here thinking i was mostly coming out to show my adorable kid to my parents. greg and i even had a talk in which i was given tips on how to feign enthusiasm when my parents inevitably went on and on about church history and the like. no feigning! no feigning!! i'm totally into all of it! oh, and for those reading who aren't mormon and think we're weirdo's, which we are, skip this one...or just join us. weird is the new black. not to mention the fact that you really will be happier as a mormo.
moving on.
the temple. i've never really been bonkers about a particular temple before, but seriously, this temple is gorgeous. eye roll, i know. because saying a temple is gorgeous is like saying i'm hilarious. it's a given. but this temple really IS exceptionally tastefully done. the actual building inside and out is amazing, the rugs and fabrics are SO beautiful, the artwork is well-placed and well-chosen....blahblah....i know....you've got to see it to appreciate. and of course, the session wasn't too shabby either:)
also, my mom's friend made us a chocolate cake that was indescribably delicious. i made sure my mom had no doubt of my love for her before i confessed that it was the best chocolate cake i'd ever tasted. if you're real real nice to me, i might get the recipe and make it for you someday. MIGHT.
