we went to the doc yesterday for the ole 18 month check-up. here're the stats:
height: 31 1/4in (28%)
weight: 21lb 14oz (12%)
head circ: 45 1/4in (14%)
FOUR shots.
elizabeth no longer enjoys these little visits. and it's not even the shots really. she hates it any time someone tries to hold her still for anything. i think she actually disliked the measuring of the head part the most, though she really wasn't a fan of the measuring of the body or the listening to the heart or the looking into the ears and eyes either. she got catheterized last time we were in to check for a UTI, so i don't think that helped things. it was a bummer.
the weird part is that i started bawling for no reason. seriously, it was embarrassing. i'm really not an emotional pregnant person or anything...and i've been to the doc with bets plenty of times where she's cried her little eyes out...so i was completely taken off guard. i just apologized to the nurse and told her i must be pregnant-crazy or something.
we followed the doc visit with a trip to souplantation. mini blueberry muffins and honey-butter really go a long way in soothing both mother and child:)
I can't wait for the day when I can take James to souplantation.
ReplyDeleteUhmmmmm and Jackie what about Jackie?!
ReplyDeleteInnocent child, struggling and afraid, attacked by strangers who poke, prod and then stick little legs with sharp needles.
ReplyDeleteSeems that the natural instinct of a Mother is to want to take away/protect their child from pain. Really hard to watch; if Bets could only understand what was going on, it might not be so bad! I've been there a time or two myself..with you!
Love you sweet daughter! Sorry!
